It might still be really cold out and a few weeks until the official start of spring but the sun is out and I’m ready for springtime fun times! So is my new friend Benoit, we had a little photo shoot in the garden today. He had to wear his ‘bee-ret’ (hahaha) to keep warm though. More photos here.

A bit more web design…
Well this plan is lasting longer than expected…
I’ve just finished a website for The Society for Curious Thought. It’s a really interesting site showcasing essays on a variety of subjects from politics to arts to being human. Have a look around here www.thesocietyforcuriousthought.com
When I grow up I want to be…
…a web designer! Well for this week at least.
I’ve built a website for my friend Isabel Vince. She knits and sews, and is an artist and designer.
We made a fun little animation for the front page and there’s lots of lovely pictures to see. Have a look around!
Exciting new animation site – 4mations
4mations opened it’s doors today. It’s a site from Channel 4 and Aardman featuring some top quality new and old animations. It’s definitely worth having a nose around. I’ve put a couple of mine up there and hopefully will be adding some new knitimations at some point…
Knitted Guys in Greenwich
Say hello to Undercover Tony. He’s part of an exhibition of my knitted characters that has opened today at Greenwich Picturehouse. They’ll be there until the 31st August so go and have a look if you get the chance. If you can’t get to laugh at their silly faces in real life then you can look at their pictures here.
Trouble Bros.
Here’s a couple of crims up to no good on da streetz…
They’re going to be on display with some more of my new characters in the bar at Greenwich Picturehouse throughout the whole of August.
Je suis Bob l’eponge
I find it’s always helpful to have a stupid phrase when travelling to non-English speaking countries. And I’ve discovered that ‘I am Spongebob Squarepants’ seems to be universally amusing so I’m making it my mission to learn it in as many languages as possible. So far I have:
French – Je suis Bob l’eponge
German – Ich bin Spongebob Schwammkopf
Spanish – Soy Bob Esponja
Korean – Na nun Sponge man
Japanese – watashiwa suponnji bobu desu (Thanks Erin)
Estonian – Mina olen Käsna-Kalle (Thanks Ing)
Can anyone help me learn some more?!
Let me know in the comments below and I’ll add them to the list. We can build up a hugely useful resource for travellers.
By the way, you can’t just use an internet translation tool as Spongebob has many different pseudonyms and I’m looking for what he’s called on the telly box in your chosen country.
Double Trouble!
I’m just back from Bristol where Screentest: The National Student Film Festival was held this weekend.
It was a great event and ‘I am Ahab’ picked up 2 awards! One for Best Animation and the other for Best Music Video. That’s 2 years in a row that my knitimations have won best animation. whoop whoop. I guess knitting really is taking over the world. mwah hahaha. If you haven’t seen Ahab in action yet then you can watch it here.
Better late than never…
Here’s the show reel that I put together at the end of the 3 month animation course in Bristol in December. It was a fantastic course and I learnt plenty of animation skills which I’ll be putting to good use in my next knitimation!
And here’s some of the other students work that are on youtube. Lots of variety!

Knitted animation gets serious
I’m outsourcing my knitting to puppets now. They seem to be pretty good at it…
